In the wake of coronavirus-related layoffs, she'd noticed a trend: "lists floating around from people willing to help review resumes," she said. Instead of various spreadsheets "floating on LinkedIn," she had a vision to create a single destination "where people could go to give and receive feedback, and have it streamlined all in one place," she explained.
Within 24 hours, Silber and Kibbe had paired 50 matches of seasoned professionals with those looking for job-search help. "I wanted to share on LinkedIn first, just to gauge interest," said Silber. "Because we had such a great response, I wanted to take the time to serve those responses before sharing it more broadly." She added that, since it's just the two of them, she wanted to ensure a smooth user experience. In the future, she plans to share the platform via other channels to grow the user base.
