Sime Darby Plantation’s helpline, Suara Kami, will benefit about 23,000 of its migrant workers nationwide.
“Providing our employees with access to voice their grievances is crucial to protecting their rights without fear of retribution. Lord said the helpline is multilingual given a majority of Sime Darby Plantation’s foreign workers hail from Indonesia, India, Bangladesh and Nepal. “Employment contracts are also translated and personally explained to foreign workers in their respective languages during recruitment, upon induction and upon contract signing,” he said.
