Sir Oliver Heald, a Tory backbencher and QC, says he cannot support the section of the legislation that breaches international law. He is part of a group of Tories, including former leader Lord Howard, who think breaching the law for any reason is unacceptable.
This is a vote not on International law but on whether the UK is willing to allow N Ireland to become an EU occupied zone. If this happens the GFA will essentially be dead, people should not be under any illusion about that
