More than 100 fossil fuel companies are understood to have sent 500 lobbyists to the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland, more than any single country at the summit, according to the environmental campaign group Global Witness.

Scotland, more than any single country at the summit, according to the environmental campaign group Global Witness.and found at least 503 people linked with coal, oil and gas companies were at the conference. Fossil fuel use is the biggest driver of human-made climate change.

"The presence of hundreds of those being paid to push the toxic interests of polluting fossil fuel companies, will only increase the skepticism of climate activists who see these talks as more evidence of global leaders' dithering and delaying," said Murray Worthy, gas campaign leader at Global Witness.

When questioned on why the event's organizers had allowed so many people from the industry to attend, COP26 President Alok Sharma said: "At the end of the day, It is up to parties and observers who gets accreditation as part of their delegations."

Why are you shocked. There are hundreds of FF companies.

At least they paid their own way!

Good... if they have! Fossil fuels have made the world a far safer place. People live longer, are healthier, way less below the poverty line, etc. Far less people die in violent weather/storms thanks to energy security and machines that fossil fuels have given us! Take a bow!

Stop these guys and emissions will drop considerably.

Of course they are, we do still need oil. Most don’t want to admit it. Clearly we need to change and thankfully CTV has proclaimed itself as the propaganda arm of the government change policy. You can make a difference by getting rid of everything plastic and or made by CCP.

Meanwhile Canada sends more over than any other country.
