While many inside and outside Hobart's property market are viewing with disbelief "gobsmacking" house prices, a new report is shedding light on another reason home ownership is out of reach for many in the island state.
It may be spruiked as being "in need of repair" but that isn't deterring those keen to take on the challenge in Tasmania's hot property market. "I think local people are trying to snap up properties like this to keep the mainlanders out," Mr Morgan said.
