Former CFO at the Collins Chabane Municipality in the Vhembe District in Limpopo, Charlotte Ngobeni, is expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Commercial Crimes Court on Friday morning for his alleged involvement in the VBS Mutual Bank scandal.

, in violation of the Municipal Finance Management Act.

Ngobeni was arrested on the same matter by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Task Team members in March last year and has since been released on R50 000 bail.“The suspect is expected to make his first appearance in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court for contravening the Municipal Finance Management Act. The Hawks Investigations with regard to VBS cases are at an advanced stage and a total of 27 suspects have been arrested so far. More arrests are imminent.
