In politics and business, as in life, it’s good to have friends who look out for you, especially in tough times. As a peaceful and prosperous country blessed with abundant natural resources, Canada — and, by extension, Canadian business — has a lot of friends to choose from. In today’s global environment, economies are increasingly focusing on their friends and shutting out those viewed as hostile. So, we are in an enviable position.
