Contract manufacturer Flex is cutting back its Silicon Valley workforce.

Last month, on the same day it cut 48 temporary workers in Milpitas, contract manufacturer Flex Ltd. notified state officials it planned to lay off 155 of its own employees there.

The cuts came in response to a change in demand from an unnamed customer, Flex spokesman Mark Plungy said in an emailed statement. The company temporarily suspended the manufacturing work it was doing for that customer, Plungy said. Flex reassigned some of its own employees and some of its contract workers to other operations, but couldn't find roles for all of those who had been doing work for the customer, he said.

Flex plans to cut the workers between the 9th and 23rd of January, it said in its letter to the EDD. The company did not offer any details on which positions or roles it's cutting, but said the layoffs will affect people working at its location at 847 Gibraltar Dr.planned to cut 48 Aerotek workers
