More restaurants are selling ready-to-eat meals at local grocery stores like Native Sun, and the expansion of coffee shops throughout the area have boomed. New additions include 7Brew, Foxtail Coffee Company, Ellianos Coffee, Bitty and Beau’s and The Greenhouse Bar. In addition to labor shortages, restaurants are dealing with higher labor costs and have to pay employees higher salaries when they can find staff to cover all shifts. The latter is cutting into their slim-to-begin-with profit margins.
