The Wesfarmers chairman attracted some criticism after he warned that foreign investment into Australia would be impacted by the Voice to Parliament failing.

The comments, made on the Future Generation 2Fold podcast, have been ridiculed with many insisting that Australia will remain a free and safe place for investment regardless of the referendum result.

Liberal MP Dan Tehan sought to dismiss the comments, insisting Australia is held in high regard on the international stage.“I am a former diplomat, and I can tell you Australia is held in the highest regard internationally.
