Increased globalisation along with rapidly developing technology is driving the shift to a skills-based job market, believes Experts say workers are increasingly willing to walk away from employers they once would have bragged about on their CVs Taylor says the pandemic has also driven workers to demand more autonomy in the workplace. “People want more control over their work-life balance,” he says. “There is much less emphasis on staying loyal and ‘sticking out’ for a job and much more emphasis on finding a job that matches workers’ own needs and preferences,” he adds.
