Dow sinks more than 200 points, as the stock market is on track for its worst week in 2 1/2 months

U.S. stocks traded firmly lower Thursday morning, after the European Central bank slashed its growth forecasts and pledged continued monetary support for its flagging economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.94% was down 292 points, or 1.1%, at 25,380, the S&P 500 index [: SPX] was headed 1% lower at 2,745, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.86% shed 1% at 7,427, in early trade.
