Matthew Tuttle, the chief executive and chief investment officer of Tuttle Capital Management, puts out a daily email with his short-term thoughts. 'Days like this are really read and react. If the number and reaction are bullish then I would look at gold miners first and foremost.

'If the number and reaction are negative then the usual suspects come back into play on the short side--regional banks, REITs, and probably oil stocks some more.'
