Debbie Gibson is glad that the music industry has become more welcoming of women since she got her big break in the ‘80s.
The “Lost in Your Eyes” singer previously called Eilish, 22, “a wise old soul” during a November 2021 interview with The Guardian and said Eilish seemed to be “handling all the pressure” of being in the public eye “beautifully.” “I just could imagine the stress and exhaustion that my mom and I exerted just to get past the gatekeepers to get to the starting gate could've been eliminated,” she said. “There's a freedom now for young artists, for female artists and I think really for female creative visionaries.”Gibson released her debut album, Out of the Blue, which she wrote and produced most of, in 1987.
