I'm confused, what jobs did these people get? number of people in the civilian workforce dropped by 490,000, and people not in the workforce increased by 646,000. Also the number of people employed actually decreased by 103,000.

Do some fact checking. What type of jobs really? These are mostly low paying minimum wage and part time. Very few employers are hiring full time. If they do then they have to offer insurance which part time workers aren't eligible for. Same thing as higher pay less hours.

In Oct 2016 ( a month before the election) unemployment rate was 4.9%. Today it is 3.6%. A whopping 1.3% change over a 2 year period. Trump inherited a growing and robust economy from Obama and has managed to capitalize on it.
