Typically, the revered driverless car is tended with gobs of loving care. Each night, after a tiring day of roaming around for the better part of the day, it gets tucked into a warm and cozy facility that is stocked with every imaginable car repair capability. NASCAR race cars would be envious if they saw what their self-driving car brethren were getting .
Wear and tear is a law of physics, no matter how good the AI might be on an autonomous car, it’s all still a car.Ongoing maintenance is going to be keenly desired, especially since the lost revenue from any downtime is going to be hurtful. If your traditional car of today goes sour, you might walk, ride the bus, or find some other means to travel.
Yea it sure will be a boom when they blow the repair shops up !!! Haha!!!
Especially the body shops!

Auto industry says cybersecurity is a significant concern as cars become more automatedBut the auto industry is downplaying a report that a hacker’s use of GPS trackers allowed him to monitor the location of thousands of vehicles in commercial fleets and even turn off their engines. The network itself is the problem. To fix it, some industries undergo radical changes & others disappear. The problem has been obvious for decades & I can't be the only person who knows the approach to fixing it. Or am I? Hint - It's not encryption. Ya think? if we're going to have automated driving they better be open-source so we can verify they are safe and recompile to avoid hacks. Otherwise no dice. Just computers alone where you can't do that are 100% compromised. Can't put my life in a CAR that compromised
