PAC confident it will increase its support base

The Pan African Congress is confident that it will increase its support base in the general elections on Wednesday.PAC General Secretary, Apa Pooe, says they are targeting provinces like the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and the North West.

He says the PAC can tackle most of the challenges facing the Eastern Cape. High unemployment rate and poor school infrastructure are some of the problems the province is grappling with. “On top of the agenda here in the Eastern is to create opportunities for the people of the Eastern Cape. We have realized that most of the people here migrate to other provinces because of lack of employment because of many other things that are important. You talk of sports, art and recreation there is a lot that can be done in this province. So we need to make sure that we enhance such programmes so that there is opportunity in this province,” says Pooe.

I think the PAC will be squeezed out of Parliament by a) some of the newcomers, and b) natural attrition.
