Security is tight around Vuwani township and surrounding areas in Limpopo after a call by the Pro Makhado Task Team for a total shutdown of services on Tuesday. sabcnews Vuwani Makhado TotalShutdown

The Task Team threatened to boycott elections if their demand to be reincorporated into Makhado from Collins Chabane local municipality is not met on Tuesday by government.

Only a few taxis can be seen operating and private vehicles of people going to schools and work outside Vuwani. However, Limpopo Chief Electoral Officer, Livhuwani Matsila, called for people to ignore calls to boycott elections saying people want to cast their votes. “In area in Matsila village and other surrounding areas such and Madzhosi, Nkuzana, Nzhakanzhaka, Tshikwarana and De hope, Tshipuseni Havhangani and so forth, we are ready for the elections. We are so excited that our people are going to exercise their democratic right to vote. They are going to vote for the political parties of their choice so that they can be represented in government – its all systems go and there is no panic.

Meanwhile, Mateta says they assisted 72 % of people who applied for special votes around Vuwani and surrounding villages on Monday.“We are quite excited with Vuwani because we have already attended to 72% of voters that applied for special votes, we will open and finish 28% that still remain and really we are quite excited that Vuwani is stabilising.”

All these so-called Shutdowns are done by disgruntled ANC supporters, they voted ANC into office knowing its flaws & now are holding residents who want to vote for change, hostage, why not go to Luthuli and shut the house down instead?🙅

Is not time for shutdown, is time to. vote come on Venda people !
