Chuchito Valdés will appear in concert for two nights this weekend at the Market Garden Brewery's Tasting Room in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood.CLEVELAND, Ohio – Summertime is supposed to be warm, joyous and ebullient. He also carries with him a rich familial music tradition that spans generations: his father Chucho Valdés and grandfather Bebo Valdés paved the way for his blissful, ivory-tickling mastery. When most folks think of Cuban jazz music, they immediately point to Juan de Marcos González and Buena Vista Social Club – as well as the 1999 documentary film about them that Wim Wenders and Ry Cooder captured. As a former leader of world-renowned Cuban band called Irakere, Chuchito understands the connecting point between tradition and accessibility. With contemporary influences and a classical music mindset, he fuses everything in such a lively way you can’t help but be captivated.
