Opposition parties and civil organisations are putting pressure on the ruling party to remove Zandile Gumede.
Hundreds of ANC branch members in the eThekwini region painted the streets of Durban black, green and gold marching from the beachfront to the provincial ANC offices demanding to meet with their provincial leadership. The chairperson of the Gedleyihlekisa zone of the eThekwini region Ntando Khuzwayo says Gumede is going nowhere.
Meanwhile, an ANC activist Mzomuhle Dube is accusing the Hawks of being used by some leaders to settle political scores.

Obviously they'll support her because if she goes down, they will go down with her. While I do believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty, cases need to be individualized. In cases with compelling evidence, accused must step down or be suspended!
If she was arrested and released on bail then this mean the evidence against her was compelling ANC people are wrong by supporting the corrupt mayor, nobody is above the law.
