Ramaphosa is expected to address the General Assembly on its opening day, on Tuesday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead the South African delegation to the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly Debate and High-Level Week in New York, USA, from next week.

The annual gathering of world leaders is the most key event on the UN calendar. It affords leaders an opportunity to discuss global challenges like sustainable development goals, climate change and world peace. He will also take part in the UN Secretary General’s Summit of the Future which is expected to adopt a Pact for the Future.
