The merger of multiple Birmingham area hospitals has not yet officially been finalized.

In a quick meeting Wednesday, the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees authorized an important purchase for the UAB Health System and Ascension St. Vincent’s hospital merger, which is still in the works.

Even though the merger has not yet officially been finalized, the new mega hospital, known as UAB St. Vincent’s, will get a $380 million software investment. CEO of UAB Health System Dawn Bulgarella said physicians and nurses are “all elated” about the coming switch to Epic medical records, which will be completed within 2.5 years. Bulgarella said a new medical records system will “make access for our patients easier and improve patient experience.”When are Mobile metro, Baldwin County school breaks?
