Tito Mboweni's funeral arrangements are currently underway at Sasekani village outside Tzaneen.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared Mboweni’s funeral a Special Official Funeral Category 2 in Mboweni’s honour.“Firstly, we welcome the decision of the government to give him an official funeral. We have been advised that the funeral is categorised as Category 2. Internally, as an organisation, we are still engaging with regards to possible memorial services either before or after the funeral. Once that decision has been made, we will then confirm to the public and the media.
