BUSINESS owners in Cebu City will be required to strictly follow environmental requirements starting January 2025 as part of the enforcement of the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan . Failure to comply with the Esap will lead to businesses losing their permits, the Cebu City Public Information Office reported.

Cenro Legal Officer Klive Eric Ravanes told the City Government’s online program Sugboanon Channel that Esap is the City’s version of the Environmental Compliance Certificate issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources . The DENR issues ECCs to establishments whose operations impact the surrounding community and ecosystem, while Esap is a mandatory requirement for business permit issuance in Cebu City.
