FANS of K-Drama Actor Park Min-Jae were stunned with the news of his sudden passing at the age of 32. The actor was on a work trip in China when he died suddenly of a cardiac arrest last week.

And indeed, a quick Google search will show that the number of Korean actors and singers who died young, mostly by suicide, is at an alarming number. Many of them took their own lives even before reaching the age of 30. At the time of his death, Lee Sun-Kyun was 48 years old and left behind two children; he was being investigated on allegations of illegal drug use and went through many rounds of lengthy questioning from the police.Parasite director Boo Joon-ho, who worked with Lee along with other prominent figures, called for an inquiry into the role that the media and police played in his death.

As if adding insult to injury, the “Suga Challenge” became a trend on social media, with users posting photos and videos of themselves fake driving while drunk, openly mocking Suga, even posting with the hashtag #SugaChallenge and with captions like: “Always with you Min-Yoo-gi.”
