A fire broke out at the Ogbosisi market on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2024. Emergency responders successfully contained the blaze, preventing further damage. Police have cordoned off the area to prevent looting. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no casualties were reported.

“Following the swift response of the Police and Fire service operatives to the outbreak at Ogbosisi on 18/12/2024 by 8:45 pm brought the situation under control,” Ikenga said.“Meanwhile, Police operatives have cordoned off the scene of the incident to prevent hoodlums from taking undue advantage of the situation to loot properties and goods of individuals in the area.

“The Command has however begun an investigation into the cause of the fire incident and notes that no life was lost. Also the worth of goods destroyed is yet to be ascertained.”“If the fire had started earlier, it would have been put out. But the devil struck when everyone had gone home,” a trader said.
