My son has asked us to invest in a new restaurant he wants to set up in London with two friends from university. He seems to be going about things in a responsible way, with plausible costings and a business plan.

2 things you can't buy of a shelf in supermarkets or retail is Time And Happiness. Happiness is born out of circumstance ,genetics and personal development. I'm sitting in Costa's and I see al types of people with their version of happiness.

That’s a bad idea. Money between family always ends badly, regardless of what is said. Let him make his future on his own terms, w/o interference of any kind. You worked to enjoy your senior years, not to possibly end up going back to work to get by.
