In a notoriously male-led sector, a new study shows the avalanche of everyday sexism women working in tech have to contend with on a daily basis:

The 45-year-old has won two Filmfare Awards and was honoured with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France in 2012.The Indian film actor and model was won the Miss Universe contest at the age of 18 in 1994. She has since worked in several Hindi films, and Tamil and Bengali language projects.

The survey also ranked infuriating sexist phrases women had overheard in the workplace by how common they were. In the top spot was being called “sweatheart”, “love”, or “darling”, with 93 per cent of survey respondents having heard all three.Read moreWe have seen changes across the tech sector over the last decade with the typically male orientated sector seeing an increase of women in key and more senior roles.

"Whether it’s the casual use as a term of endearment, or something as immoral as being overlooked for a promotion they deserve, we think it is paramount businesses tackle the culture of sexism right now and lead by example," Forder added.

EverydaySexism Yep, I no longer want to identify as a man, they constantly let the gender down with their sexist comments and ancient ideas.

EverydaySexism My favourite thing is going in to solve someone's problem, and being told my solution is wrong. So yea, just ask that guy in your department who likes computers. I'll be back in a week. No fair telling my boss I did nothing to help you.

EverydaySexism Is there going to be a similar survey on the sexism women face in the sewerage-management sector? Oh no, wait, women never deign to do that sort of job do they, so there can't be any sexism - apart from the sexism of women presuming that men will simply do those jobs for them.
