A 21-year-old woman has been found dead with her throat slashed near scenes of a six-minute knife rampage in Sydney.
Dramatic footage showed a brave member of the public confronting the 21-year-old attacker with a chair before shouting at police to 'shoot him'. A police spokesman said: "At around 2 this afternoon we received multiple phone calls about a 21-year-old man from Maryong, in the vicinity of King st armed with a knife and wearing a balaclava."He stabbed a 41-year-old woman in the back, it appears to be a random attack.
They told the Australian paper: "We had a window open to get some air in and then we just heard the commotion [...] we looked out and saw him on top of a car wielding a knife and we all just kind of reacted from there. He added: "I froze for probably a split second but then I thought I'm hoping that he's not covered in any explosives or anything, so I quickly accelerated so he can get off the car."
