The Department of Justice (DOJ) plans legal action against ticketing provider Live Nation for allegedly forcing venues to use subsidiary Ticketmaster, according to report by lisettevoytko

Live Nation and Ticketmaster were allowed to merge in 2010, but had to agree to multiple conditions set by the DOJ to maintain competition and keep ticket prices in check for customers.

But ticket prices have gone up, causing critics to wonder if the settlement conditions are actually working. The DOJ will reportedly ask a court to extend the settlement conditions by at least several years and prevent Live Nation from engaging in coercive behavior.
