Exclusive: Deputy Nationals Leader Bridget McKenzie has bought a $2 million city property raising questions about her commitment to rural and regional Australia

Records obtained under freedom of information laws highlight the cost of Senator McKenzie's urban life.

The driver assigned to her was forced to work a 15-hour day, clocking on at 6.15am and knocking off just after 9pm, having spent 12 hours escorting the then backbencher 466 kilometres between Melbourne, Buangor and Stawell. But Senator McKenzie insisted it was more cost-effective to get to Buangor and also said it was safer for her to be driven the distance by someone else as she had arrived back at Melbourne Airport at 9pm the day before.

"The minister then visited the under-construction Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory and returned to Melbourne.

$2 mill? Must be on a good salary

She has now shot herself in both feet.

She is rural by name and city by fame!

A more appropriate address for the scheming thief Bridget McKenzie... sportsrorts

AngryGranny1 Like all politicians with rare exceptions, they can talk the talk but they can't walk the walk.

Oh Yeah ... Bridget’s can feel it ..

We obviously give politicians way too good a wage & conditions. How TF do they buy multi million $ properties on their wages. And not just one but two FFS.

Jealousy is a pathway to the Darkside

first home buyers are struggling to enter the market.. McKenzie enters easily the 2ND HOME BUYER market with a $2million purchase on an MPs salary. Apart from pork barreling allegations where does the income come from to purchase? Something not right here..very fishy..

Who cares just focus on the ANAO report and the remaining $80m that we still haven’t heard about

🤬Did she buy it from the unused Grant money?

The full cliche for a trough addicted elite. But Why would any Board want someone so incompetent and covered in failure.

The questions are just being asked now?

How deep is the rabbit hole?

HkarterKarter must be doing well then

She needs to go.

Politicians with a million or two to spare? Sort of puts into perspective why they make some of the decisions they make

The nationals forgot the bush years ago!

they do a lot of things with our money

She hates the country

Is it me or do see a gilded exit plan being established, city property, parlimentry pension, board positions.

You have to ask where politicians get all this money from.....

Probably a shed in Leichhardt for that money but non the less ..

SMH totally ‘owned’ by socialists posing as virtue signalling environmentalists. Will try to destroy anyone who disagrees via bias, bullying and personal insults.

Bridget we know you are in the Senate, however remember the what happened to our dear Sophie and Georgina!

I want politicians to work on helping Australians own their own homes. Now, the Senator has a personal interest in manipulating policy to keep RE prices high (read “unaffordable”). It’s okay to invest in RE as long as it adds to supply and keeps $$ low, but this ain’t doing it.

Off farm investment is a long standing and entirely legitimate investment strategy for the rural sector - it helps balance uncertain farm returns with more certain off farm income - so this angle on McKenzie is purely a beat up....🙄

FFS - proceedsofcrime crimedoespay

Leftists getting low now.

When you've dug yourself into a hole, STOP DIGGING.

What has that got to do with the SMH ?

Why get personal? My folks who are farmers, who were directly hit by the bushfires, had investments properties in the city... please let me know if I should ‘raise questions’ with them.

Unsuccessful scapegoat attempt by the higher ups. We know this goes deeper than Bridget...

Just out of curiosity, where someone buys an investment property doesn't indicate where their commitments lie, it indicates where they are more likely to see growth/profit/return; that primary production doesn't represent that, is a sad reflection on city centric Australia .

Um Yep. The rich Warmers all seem to have coastal mansions. What does that say?

She lives in Melbourne. Haven’t you ever noticed that when she visits rural areas she has brand new clothes every photo op?

Okay ... you’ve jumped the shark. There’s more than enough in the sportsrorts to validly criticise. This article is a confected pile on.

How good is corruption!

MinhKular You can see now how they so easily relate to the average bush battlers

The vultures are swarming, you lot are a disgrace

That's a rather big assumption (that she has a commitment to anything to begin with)

Come on SMH. Have a dig at her political actions - don’t try create outrage over her personal investments.

Ummm watergate ?

What % of the sports grants she gave to her LNP mates came back to her in a brown paper bag so she could by a $2 million property

HkarterKarter Things seem to be paying off for her at present.

Nationals voters are easy prey for grifters

Gobble gobble gobble, oink oink oink.

So the press are playing the person not the ball. ScottyfromMarketing will be delighted, get the spotlight off his office's roll in sportsrorts

The swarm of journalist vultures is circling

She couldn't spell rural.
