32.8 per cent decline in passengers in February at Changi Airport as Asian markets hit hard

SINGAPORE - Changi Airport saw a 32.8 per cent decline in passenger movements in February compared with the same period last year, as air travel across the world continues to be severely impacted by the ongoing coronavirus health crisis that has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

The Changi Airport Group said in a statement on Friday that the drop fits in with patterns recorded in every other region of the world in February, with the exception of Africa. Taken together with statistics recorded in January, passenger traffic in the first two months of the year at Changi Airport is 12.9 per cent lower than in the same period last year.
