Irish salons 'could open next month' as haircut black market emerges, expert claims

A haircut black market has "erupted in Ireland" with customers prepared to pay up to four times more than normal, an expert has claimed.

It comes as hairdressers have been inundated with requests from clients after Taoiseach Leo Varadkar confirmed last week that their services would not return until July. And when asked how much customers are willing to pay, she revealed: "Roughly €150 to €200 for a haircut, compared to €40, €50 of a normal price, so to three to four times more than normal.

And Ms Kennedy claimed that salons could open as soon as phase three in the Government's official roadmap, which is scheduled for June 29.
