SpaceX's latest Starship rocket prototype just exploded during an engine test

The three previous prototypes were destroyed through fueling issues.

In nearby Boca Chica Village, where SpaceX has bought up most of the roughly 35 residences that once stood there, about a dozen homeowners remain. Celia Johnson, who has owned her home there since the early 1990s, was in her house during the test. It does not appear anyone was hurt by the incident due to safety precautions taken prior to tests of this kind. SpaceX did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Tomorrow, SpaceX is set to perform its second attempt to launch an historic mission sending two astronauts to the International Space Station. SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft will launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk previously said this week that the SN4 would launch on a 150-meter "hop" test flight in two to three weeks.

Yikes!

Jake_Broooks as if they weren't shitting themselves already 😂

TwitterMoments this tweet is included in a thread about the SpaceX crewed mission to the ISS, but it’s entirely unrelated to that mission or even that spacecraft.

SpaceX also want to build a great big accommodation for their workers there.

People living near were assured that their beach wouldn't be shut much and that this was all safe. Now they know the truth - they've been lied to. They can't use the beach a lot and debris is all over where they live so they can't go out.

Its Called a Test for a reason right ? I think any aerospace project needs to go through this, it is only a testament to how things a progressing at SpaceX. Build , Test, Change, Brake, Test some more, Hey lets Brake some more, Then the moment comes, hang on its working ...
