What I spent this month:

I bought a designer jacket in the sale Apart from that, petrol for the car £50, a couple of takeaways for my family, a birthday present for my sister.£24,000. I’ve paid off £100 of this only so far, had never earned enough to need to pay until last year and got a bit of a surprise.A place of my own/house/flat. I’m desperate to move out. I’m open to renting but would prefer to buy.

My worst money habit: This is probably for the best, but I forget about my savings and only look at what is in my current account and easy access savings account. This sometimes gets quite low because as soon as I’m paid anything I put half away so if I have a long work gap my current account can get very low. Of course I do sometimes take money out of savings if I get desperate but I’ve been quite lucky and haven’t had to do that much over the last 18 months.

Other bad/good habits include: not really knowing where money’s gone, not really knowing how I’ve saved it. Generally always being surprised at myself and my squirrelling abilities. That I’ll spend all my savings on renting and deplete them down to nothing OR live at home forever.Want to take advantage of that stamp duty holiday?
