U.S. stocks finished lower despite rebounding from their session lows as some investors took advantage of the market’s biggest dip in months.
Capping a dramatic two-day stretch of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average swung more than 850 points from its high to its low, leaving the blue-chip index down 0.6%, or 159 points, as of 4 p.m. ET. Similarly, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite pared their losses, down 0.8% and 1.3%, respectively.The Cboe Volatility Index hit its highest level since June and two stock splitters lost momentum.
