GEORGE TOWN: The Batu Maung wet market here was closed at 2pm on Thursday (Oct 22) after a visitor tested positive for Covid-19.

Sungai Nipah Village Community Management Councils Chang Gim Hooi said the visitor, who works in a factory at Bayan Lepas, went to the market five days ago to buy groceries.

According to Chang, the market would be closed for two weeks and 18 traders from the market would have to undergo Covid-19 tests.
