Oracle is moving its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas — the latest tech giant to flee the tech capital for the Southern state

Oracle's move is just the latest in a string of announcements of tech talent fleeing the San Francisco Bay Area for Texas, specifically Austin.

The tech industry has a long history in Austin, with IBM, Dell Technologies, and Samsung setting up shop in the city. Oracle itself has a relatively new campus near downtown Austin.In a statement to Business Insider, Oracle spokesperson Deborah Hellinger confirmed that the database software giant's corporate headquarters has moved from its longtime campus in Redwood Shores, California to Austin, Texas.

Hallinger also said the move comes after Oracle implemented a more flexible employee work location policy.
