The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) called on local government units (LGUs) that it will be conducting surprise inspections to see if they are fully implementing their Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) for this year’s business registration and business license renewals.

In a Viber message, ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica said that the compliance of LGUs will be based on the requirements of the Ease of Doing Business Act and other existing policies of ARTA and the departments of the Interior and Local Government , Trade and Industry , and Information and Communications Technology on BOSS.

“ARTA shall be conducting a series of on the spot surprise inspections starting [the] first working week of January, especially to NCR Cities and other Highly Urbanized Cities ,” he added. The ARTA chief likewise reminded LGUs that the statutory deadline for the creation of their Electronic BOSS is only until June 17, 2021, which is three years from the effectivity of the Ease of Doing Business Act.
