BUTTERWORTH (Bernama): The Apollo Market here has been ordered to close for seven days starting Monday (Jan 18) due to non-compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the movement control order.

Seberang Perai Utara district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said an integrated operation with the Health Ministry and Seberang Perai City Council to monitor the SOP compliance found the market was too crowded, making it difficult to practice physical distancing.

He added when contacted on Sunday that the Ministry has issued a temporary closure notice to the Apollo Market for seven days to rearrange its system to comply with the SOPs set
