The WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has criticised COVID-19 vaccine producers for prioritising profit over protecting the elderly and frontline workers in poorer countries.

Mr Ghebreyesus claimed pharmaceutical companies have focused on bilateral agreements in countries where "profits are highest" which he fears may increase

global inequality. The WHO has backed the COVAX program which aims to share vaccines with all countries based on need and has secured two billion doses to date.

Surprising news?

Isn't that his job? WHO should have been in the market place months ago.

No vaccine approved for kids. Can you pls post sources that say why parents shouldnt be worried that vaccinated parents might have more chance of getting covid, having no symptoms & not getting tested, & unknowingly spreading covid to unvaccinated child? Any long term effects?

“Give me money, vaccine producers! Bribe me!” Tedros’ really thinking.

The producers are prioritising supply to countries which have contracted for and paid for the vaccines. Believe it or not, corporations are not charities and should not be viewed as such. Charities need to take charge of charitable functioning here.

Tedros can get a dog up him.

He can do one.....and then aske China to sort their shit out in thise poorer countries.....ffs

Profit will always override anything
