SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council will close the Central Market for another eight days from Feb 20 to 28.

This is the second extension for the closure of the market. It was first closed from Feb 8 to 14 and later from Feb 14 to 19.

Ting called for the understanding and cooperation of all the operators at the Central Market to strictly abide by the temporary closure to keep everyone safe. “Please practise high discipline and comply strictly with all the Health Department and SDMC instructions," he said in a statement Thursday . Residents, he said, must continue to be vigilant and always follow the standard operating procedure .
