PETALING JAYA: Business owners are very grateful for the PSU programmes, which they said had helped them to retain their staff and stay afloat.

3DTech Solutions Sdn Bhd managing director Khor Kok Khiang recalled that the company’s business was badly affected during the first MCO.

“There were no pay cuts, unpaid leave or retrenchment. We managed to maintain our company structure and work as usual, ” he added.Khor also commended the government for continuously extending the PSU programmes, and said they helped employers to cover the shortfall of business revenue and maintained staff headcount and operation costs.

He commended the government for its quick response to the Covid-19 crisis, and noted that the wage subsidies started payments in May 2020 - two months after the first MCO was implemented. As his business income was savaged by the travel restrictions and border closures, Rizal had to brainstorm and pivoted to an online snacks business via www.snacktown.com.my where over 100 products can be found.“I hope the PSU 3.0 wage subsidy can be disbursed very soon because it is a matter of survival for us now, ” he said.
