Eli Jones first thought of selling pine cones "like four years ago", as a then six-year-old. Last year his plan came to fruition and he launched Mr Eli Pine Cone. The business plan is relatively simple: pick pine cones at grandma's place near Millicent on South Australia's Limestone Coast, bag pine cones, sell pine cones."The easier part is actually picking them up and bringing them to the trailer.

The time it takes to gather them all, however, is a bit hazy. Eli suggests 20 minutes for half a trailer, while his mother Em insists it takes the family a few hours to collect a load."Mum made my Facebook page and an Instagram page," Eli says."[She's] very good at editing a lot of stuff [for online] … I'm normally like, 'Yep, that's good' on the first time.

Although eager to use his birth certificate to open a bank account for his savings, most of Eli's pocket cash currently goes towards Roblox, a game on his tablet."I really want, in like two years when I'm a teenager, when there's a business place for sale we can buy that and just stock that up with pine cone bags," Eli says."And people can go in there and we can sell pine cones to them.

'You've got to start somewhere' says boy with generational land wealth.

That's the problem today, kids being taught useless career futures. I'm sure the world will survive without pinecones The world is full of non productive overhead. No one left to actually contribute to the world.

woah! there's a kid to exploit for clickbait and criminally low wages? well SIGN THE ABC UP FOR THAT! give him a forklift already! holy shit how the fuck are you ACTUALLY advocating for child labour?

I love a kid with a get up and go attitude and learning from experience...remember that the pine cones you're taking from the environment play an important part in the eco system and for other animals and plants...without the environment will suffer and in the end your business !

I swear every 3 days y’all push out another story of a “child entrepreneur” and it’s literally just a kid with rich parents.
