A couple of weeks ago, I returned to the cinema after a long pandemic-induced hiatus. I watched the carefully photographed black-and-white scenes of Kenneth Branagh’s multi-Oscar-nominated film Belfast, while Storm Dudley or Eunice or Franklin or whichever one it was that night danced a jig on the roof.
