Thailand Automotive Institute plans to build test track for EVs to lure more foreign investment in segment

The Thailand Automotive Institute plans to build a test track specifically for electric vehicles , which it hopes will draw in more foreign investment in the country’s emerging EV segment. The test track will be built on the grounds of the Automotive and Tyre Testing, Research & Innovation Centre that is being upgraded in phases at an investment of 1.7 billion baht .

Testing covers a variety of scopes, including mechanical integrity, overcharge protection, over-temperature protection, over-discharge protection, thermal shock, vibration, external short circuit protection, mechanical shock and fire resistance, with more planned for the future.
