‘Absolutely immoral’ A seniors group says energy companies are using the Ukraine war as cover to make 'major, major profits' off the Irish people. EnergyPrices

this morning, The Irish Senior Citizens Parliament CEO Sue Shaw said we urgently need a cap on energy prices and a windfall tax on company profits.

Ms Shaw said the ISCP ‘strongly supports’ the idea of a windfall tax and is calling on the Government to cap prices in an effective way. “So, we’re saying, OK if the taxes are there, how can we see it targeted towards supporting energy fuel costs.”

We all know this is just being used as an opportunity to jack up prices for profit. Will the govt do anything about it? Probably not, they'll posture and look at windfall taxes, but I can't see them putting a price cap in, they rarely do anything that benefits most avg people.

Do we have a regulator? Where are they? If they cat be bothered doaway with the position and save the tax payer a few bob.
