Break up their monopoly. I will never give them money

They do love their no refund policy. Reminds me of chinese companies' mindset.

It's call crook being in charge

Greed

I listened to the interview and it was insane. He sounded like a cartoon villain.

Thanks for affirming that extortion is capitalism.

cbcasithappens Uh…FredRosen? 👇

Sure, but scalping is the bigger problem. The day Ticketmaster got into the secondary market biz as well is the day fair ticketing fully died. You can’t blame scalping, do nothing to solve it, but then become the very thing you use as an excuse without being generally crooked.

cbcasithappens That man is human garbage.

He's not wrong...but it's still fucking annoying.

under communism everyone would get taylor swift tickets

Artists in bed with ticketmaster is like the corruption record companies inflicted on artists in the past several decades. Hypocrites

He's right. If you want to fight back, don't buy tickets.

This is not news. How can journalist have no memory. Pearl Jam tried to go against Ticketmaster and play places not using Ticketmaster. They got little to no support. The artists just want to be paid immediately. They’re greedy. Taylor Swift is a terrible role model.

It’s called scalping.

Truly thought this was a CBCPitchbot article lol

Greedy soulless ghoul

Capitalism is different than allowing bot scalpers.

He is spot on with regards to one point though - streaming in particular, and the deluded general belief that music, like the air we breathe, should be free is making this situation much worse wrt ticket prices.

HUMBL tickets is coming for them!

That kind of ‘capitalism’ leads to revolution and heads being chopped off.

Actually, it’s called extortion.

Conservatives' please screw us more in the name of capitalism.

The interview itself is a must listen, if you want to hear how out of touch the former CEO is.

That is so much bullshit trying to blame his greed on his customer

“It’s called capitalism” Yeah, that’s the problem.

Ah . . .

Nope Ticketmaster is a monopoly! Time to break it up!

Pimp slap

He was managing the shit when most of the population buying tix were in diapers, he's now in a pair himself and can't seem to connect the dots

So basically Ticketmaster looked at Martin Shkreli and said, “let’s do what he’s doing”.

Fred Rosen is irrelevant, he’s been out of the business for 25 years. I mean, he’s still talking about Napster. Nothing he had to say was relevant to the present time. He needs to move on.

Seems to be more like “scalping”!

Sorry friend that's monopolization, market fixing and racketeering, but greed is an addiction like any other

“It's called capitalism': Ticketmaster's ex-CEO defends the company” Sounds like he mistakes the word capitalism for monopoly. Hopefully some anti-trust legislation will cool his ardour for exploitative manipulation of the market. Or perhaps a lovely class action.

No, that's the extreme greed after capitalism has been reached.
