SA Treasurer defends $78,000 US adventure with meeting ‘to re-finance debt’

The Opposition government is asking questions after an estimated $78,000 was spent on a US adventure spanning from the 19th to the 27th of January.

Department for Treasury and Finance CEO Rick Persse, State Treasurer Stephen Mullighan and a senior ministerial advisor travelled to Los Angeles, New York and Washington. Mr Mullighan defended the spending saying, “the state government has to raise billions of dollars’ worth of funding for the day-to-day operations of government and to re-finance debt which is coming due”.

This sort of spending by governments has to stop. We have so many issues in Australia that need cash.
