A carjacker knocked and ran over a pregnant woman to steal her Volkswagen car.

The woman's 2-year-old was inside the car. Volkswagen asked for a $150 fee to track it. A Volkswagen spokesperson told Insider that it has a"procedure in place with a third-party provider for Car-Net Support Services involving emergency requests from law enforcement." The automaker said the procedure was executed"successfully in previous incidents" and blamed the incident on a"serious breach of the process."

The incident happened in Libertyville, Illinois, a village near Chicago.
